The 195 guest rooms combine functionality with a sense of fun, offering a comfortable space perfect as a home base for your time in Tokyo.
A captivating feature is the array of artworks produced specifically for the hotel, created by four artists: MOTAS., Adrian Hogan, Shinjiro Tanaka, and Straft—allowing guests to experience the unique context of Kabutocho through art.
At the heart of the hotel is “Talk Shop,” a social hub that reimagines the traditional lobby. The space features both a dining area where guests can enjoy food and drinks, as well as a lounge area where everyone is invited to relax freely. Serving everything from morning coffee to late-night craft beer, it’s a welcoming spot for hotel guests, nearby office workers, and residents alike.
Talk Shop’s concept is “Burger & Greens.” The menu, created by California-born Chef Timothy Larimer, centers on hearty craft burgers, alongside satisfying salads.
Coffee served at Talk Shop is sourced from SR Coffee Roaster, a beloved café in Nihonbashi Kabutocho. The menu also features original cocktails made with doburoku (unrefined sake) from Heiwa Doburoku Kabutocho Brewery, allowing guests to experience flavors sourced from the local area.
Light snacks to pair with drinks, sweets perfect for tea time, and kids’ menu options are also available.
The spatial design was handled by Australian design studio Mitchell & Eades. The linear, industrial structure harmonises with the warmth of wood and colourful furnishings, creating a gentle rhythm within the imposing streetscape typical of the financial district. From repurposed lacquerware boxes used as fixtures to the eco-conscious use of cork materials, the space embodies the spirit of “Rethink / Repurpose.”
The free Wi-Fi and power outlets make it ideal not only for dining and café use, but also as a comfortable workspace.
Going forward, Talk Shop plans to host a variety of community programs, such as original notebook workshops in collaboration with the long-established Japanese paper store Haibara, and jazz nights inspired by Kabutocho’s growing jazz scene.
As these initiatives unfold, Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo is set to become a place where people and the city continue to connect in new and inspiring ways.
