A micro, stamp rally in Kabutocho, Vol.1 “Layers of Time” Photo Recap
Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Seven stores participated in the stamp rally, including K5, Neki, Omnipollos Tokyo, Keshiki, BANK, KNAG, and Heiwa Doburoku Kabutocho Brewery. K5, Neki, Omnipollos Tokyo, and Keshiki all had special offerings on the night, making for a truly unique experience.
Kabutocho, Nihombashi, is a town that has experienced many phases and changes over time. And so, the theme for this year’s stamp rally was “Layers of Time”. Although invisible to the naked eye, the steady accumulation of moments, layered one upon one another, is the substance that gives a place or town its unique character.
To celebrate its 4th year in operation, K5 created an exhibition presenting three different scents, each one representing a different moment in time: one scent for the hotel’s fourth anniversary, one scent for the building’s 100th anniversary, and one scent to represent the present-day Kabutocho.
K5’s fourth anniversary. Cedar, a material used on the walls of the hotel, is presented as both a scent and in its raw form.
Oakmoss symbolizes the 100th anniversary of the building, referencing the oak cladding used in the construction of the first floor.
Vadle Beauty selected lilies to represent the scent of the Kabutocho area.
Visitors who collected stamps from all seven stores won a special, limited-edition BINKOP glass alongside a golden ticket with special coupons that could be used on the weekend.
A special scented candle from Vadle Beauty was also for sale in limited quantities.
Omnipollos Tokyo offered a special menu, for one night only.
Heiwa Doburoku Kabutocho Brewery also participated in the stamp rally.
Visitors to the city are seen collecting stamps @ BANK.
Rather than their usual course menu, Neki offered an a la carte menu. Also available for pre-sale were scented sprays made in collaboration with ‘Fragrance Yes’.
Nihonbashi Kabutocho is a compact town with diverse contents. The night only, micro stamp rally, which aimed to rediscover the unique charms of the town, came to a close at 10:00 p.m., with almost all of the prizes being handed out.
