KABUTOCHO FLOWER WEEK 2025 Photo Report

Friday, March 7 - Sunday, March 16, 2025

KABUTOCHO FLOWER WEEK is a 10-day long event that was held from March 7 to March 16, 2025. The event saw the Nihonbashi Kabutocho area filled with mimosa flowers, giving the town a welcome splash of bright gold.

PHOTO EXHIBITION & FLOWER DECORATION

This year marked the second edition of the KABUTOCHO FLOWER WEEK. To mark the occasion we collaborated with photographer Yuta Kato who presented a photo exhibition in the KABUTO ONE Atrium that featured portraits of people working in local shops around the Kabutocho and Kayabacho areas—all under the theme of “gratitude”—mirroring the symbolic meaning of the mimosa flower. The exhibition space was adorned with seasonal floral arrangements by “Flowers fête”, a floral design shop located within the multi-complex “BANK” in Kabutocho—making for an atmosphere that perfectly captured the feeling of spring’s arrival.
A tabloid-style publication titled, “KABUTOCHO FLOWER WEEK paper”, compiled the exhibition contents and was distributed to the many stores and shops across the Kabutocho and Kayabacho areas.

PHOTO SHOOTING

On Friday, March 7th and Sunday, March 9th, we held a special photo shoot, where photographer, Yuta Kato took portraits of visitors to the event. Participants posed for photos holding large bouquets of mimosa, bringing a smile to everyone’s face. We also invited participants to fill out a small questionnaire, in which many shared heartfelt messages of gratitude toward their loved ones.
We fondly thank everyone who participated.

MIMOSA PRESENT

March 8th, also known as “Mimosa Day”, is a day celebrated in Italy, with mimosas gifted to loved ones. As with last year, to celebrate, customers who purchased goods at KNAG, Bakery bank, Fragrance Lobby, Pâtisserie ease, Neki or SR were gifted mimosas on a first-come, first-served basis.
The vibrant yellow of the flower gently blended into the historic-meets-modern streetscapes of Kabutocho and Kayabacho, adding a touch of spring color to the city.

[Concurrent Event] Yuta Kato’s Photo Exhibition: “Dear My Brother”

This year’s KABUTOCHO FLOWER WEEK also featured a special photo exhibition celebrating the release of Yuta Kato’s photography book “Dear My Brother”.
The opening day featured a talk event, where attendees listened attentively to Kato’s heartfelt reflections—a moment that left a lasting impression.

You can read all about Yuta Kato in our special interview here.

We hope you enjoyed those 10 days of heartwarming moments filled with seasonal mimosa flowers and gratitude.
