An izakaya where creative cuisine blends Japanese and French approaches
Opened in 2025 on the first floor of K5 in Nihonbashi Kabutocho, MARUYAMA is led by Tomohiro Maruyama, CEO of Cherche Co., Ltd., known for the French bistro MAISON CINQUANTE CINQ and the izakaya LANTERNE in Yoyogi-Uehara. The restaurant offers inventive dishes that combine Japanese cuisine with French techniques, alongside a curated selection of Japanese spirits such as shochu and sake.


For lunch, guests can enjoy a vibrant buffet-style spread featuring a colorful array of dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients. At dinner, the menu highlights carefully selected ingredients through dishes such as chilled silken tofu made with “Kinu Yutaka” tofu from Takayanagi Tofu Shop in Ningyocho, and shumai crafted with premium brand pork from Azumino, Nagano Prefecture. Served à la carte, the dishes can be enjoyed in a casual setting.


The experience is further enriched by custom tableware commissioned from ceramic artists across Japan, cultivated through relationships built via the gallery AELU. Future plans include exhibitions and food events in collaboration with these artists.
