Floral designer and ‘Flowers fête’ store owner, Moe Hosokawa, decorated the first floor atrium of Kabuto One with a stunning display of mimosas. Many people popped by or simply stopped in their tracks to take photos of the brightly-colored display. ‘The HEART’ (a large, towering digital display hanging from the ceiling of the atrium) usually displays the day’s stock prices. However, over the course of the ten days, ‘The HEART’ also displayed the KABUTOCHO FLOWER WEEK visuals, bringing a bright yellow ambiance to the entire atrium.
March 8 marked the kick-off for the event, coinciding with the celebration of “Mimosa Day”, a day celebrated in Italy where mimosas are gifted to loved ones. To celebrate, customers who purchased goods at Knag, Bakery bank, teal, or Pâtisserie ease were gifted mimosas on a first-come, first-served basis. On the streets, people could be seen carrying their mimosas with them, adding yet another splash of color to the streets.
As one of the symbolic meanings of the mimosa is “gratitude,” KABUTOCHO FLOWER WEEK also featured a selection of “recommended gifts” for purchase at selected participating stores. And of course, each store was decorated with with plenty of mimosas.
For 10 days, the town of Kabuto-cho was adorned with splashes of yellow from the in-season mimosa flowers that were spread throughout the town. We hope you enjoyed it.
